Here is something for all of you who like plays {and mom}. Ahem... so here we go!!!!!!!!!!
America in The Past
{With host Jennifer and two kids back then}
{It was the time of the Industrial Revolution}
Narrator: In the Industrial Revolution new machines came forth to help stop “the work”. But dangers would come with these ideas and machines! So this show is going to report about kids who had to work in dangerous places and may have lost a few … limbs. So let’s get started! {Applause}
Jennifer: Hi this is me, Jennifer! Our first guest tonight is … Jacob!!! So tell us, how old are you?
Jacob: ’bout 10.
Jennifer: What’s your job?
Jacob: I shuck oysters. It’s ‘retty ‘ard.
Jennifer: Why is that?
Jacob: Well, ya’ see, the’ oysters ‘re ‘ard so ‘ou scrap you’ fingers. I lost one or two of ‘em fingers!!
Jennifer: Well after the commercial well be back so stay tun-
Jacob : Oh yeah! And them blood was squirting everywhere when my fingers got cut of ya’ see. It happ-
Jennifer: Ok !!! We’ll be back so stay tuned!!{Clapping}
A few minutes later…
Jennifer: Ok people we’re back so our next guest is a girl ripe from the 1800s, so welcome Molllllly!!!!
Molly: Why are there bright lights? There are so sshhiinnyy!!
Jennifer: So how old are you?
Molly: Ripin’ 12.
Jennifer: I see you coughing a lot. Why is that?
Molly: Well my job is in the mill and everybody gets a cough. Some died. I’m lucky.
Jennifer: I see. So you work in a mill?
Molly: Righ’.
Jennifer: So why don’t you go to school or call a doctor when you’re sick?
Molly: My family doesn’ have enough money. Have to use it for the rent of the house and food.
Jennifer: Do you have anything else to tell us?
Molly: {tears in face} Well you see {sniff, sniff} my best friend died {bawling}!!!!!!!!!
Jennifer: Well that was out show! Good night everybody! [Are you ok Molly…]
Narrator: So now you can see how much hard times these kids had to go through! Sadness! But on the bright side new machines where invented to help the change of America!!!!!
